Insight Property Group’s The Shelby Apartment property is a 240-unit luxury apartment project developed in the Alexandria section of Fairfax County, Virginia. Construction of this $53,600,000 project began in February 2013 and was completed in November of 2014. The property is located in an extremely well-traveled section of Fairfax County and is within one half mile of the Huntington Metro Station.  The community, which is off U.S. Route 1, will be walking distance to the Huntington Metro Station and is in close proximity to major area roads, airports, shopping, recreational attractions and employment centers including downtown Washington, DC, Alexandria and Arlington.  This property is also well positioned in the Pentagon to Fredericksburg defense/BRAC corridor.

Insight acquired the subject property in September of 2012.  Prior to Insight’s acquisition, the Firm spent 23 months working closely with County Supervisors, planning staff and community members to achieve an amendment to the County’s Comprehensive Plan and a re-zoning that will accommodate the proposed development.

This project was developed in three and four story sections with an above-grade structured parking garage. Project features include top-tier amenities and gathering spaces including a resident lounge and clubroom with kitchen and billiards, business center, wireless internet connectivity, outdoor pool, state-of-the-art fitness center, and intensely landscaped courtyards and grounds.
