Insight will redevelop the existing Macy’s at 685 N. Glebe Road in Arlington, VA with 553 apartments in a 16-story building with 45,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenities, anchored by a 38,400 SF organic grocery store and 2,000 SF of in-line retail space.
The building will be LEED Gold certified with an array of sustainable features, including on-site solar and biophilic landscaping.
The Macy’s Ballston site is the Western anchor of the Ballston Quarter mall. Located at the intersection of N Glebe Road and Wilson Boulevard in Arlington, the project is at the heart of one of the densest neighborhoods in the D.C. Metro region. It is within a block of the Ballston Metrorail Station and at the center of Ballston employment, retail, dining, and entertainment, including the Kettler iceplex. This location is easily accessible to all of the metro area's employment centers thanks to its immediate proximity to major commuter routes including Route 66, the Capital Beltway, Route 29, and Route 50.
